Come join us for a Brown Bag Lunch and Learn! What is Quantum Computing and why is everyone talking about it? Dr. Meier will give a brief Introduction to Quantum Computing and how it might impact you. This will be followed by questions and answers.
This month we will be meeting in a new location at the VECTR Center, building E, at 980 South Cobb Drive
Marietta, GA 30060. It will be on September 30th from 12:00pm - 1:00pm. Here is a link for the VECTR Center: VECTR Center - Chattahoochee Technical College
This is a free event. Feel free to come, bring your lunch and learn about Quantum Computing.
Our speaker this month is Dr. Adam Meier is a Principal Research Scientist in the Quantum Systems Division and head of the CIPHER Theory Branch at GTRI. His research interests center on validation and verification of architectures for quantum computing. Dr. Meier received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. His graduate thesis work, regarding randomized benchmarking of quantum computers, was performed at NIST. Dr. Meier recently started a new role as the co-PI of the GTRI test and evaluation team for DARPA’s Quantum Benchmarking Initiative, where he focuses on evaluating the prospects for quantum error correction for commercial quantum computers.
